I do alterations and repairs of all kinds -wedding gowns, prom dresses, I’ve repaired boat and car covers, and even purses. Pretty much anything as long as I can get it under a sewing machine foot.

This gown was way too low so I raised each side of the front and carefully stitched the pieces together from the inside. I also continued stitching down the front section to help secure the adjustments. Now the dress fits perfectly and you can’t see any of the stitching.

Wedding party alterations

I opened up the back, made a new inset, added 10 loops to each side and made a new tie. After a bit of finishing work the dress fit perfectly. The added length of the back lacing looks like part of the design. A disaster was avoided! And what a beautiful bride!

Alterations aren’t always taking in a garment. These pants were too small in the waist so I added a longer piece of elastic. Much better fit and you can’t even tell they’ve been altered!

Before and after pictures of a beautiful wedding gown I altered in May.

I took in the sides of these leather pants and added zippers to each leg

Zipper replacements

The original zipper tore at the separation point so I replaced it with a much stronger one
